Can CBD Help Your Migraine? It doesn't hurt to try!
June is Migraine Awareness Month. Millions of people suffer from this devastating and sometimes crippling illness, including children. According to research done by Dr. Lawrence Newman, director of the Division of Headache at NYU Langone Medical Center in NYC, “there are over 40 million Americans who suffer from migraines”.
Treatment options can span from botox injections (say what?), laser treatment (is there a light show?) and sometimes even surgery (yikes!). I prefer a more natural and holistic treatment option so I tend to use herbal supplements, meditation, clean up my diet, cancel extraneous meetings and work out with Jessica.
More and more people are turning to cannabis for relief now that CBD has become a legal medical treatment. Chronic sufferers now have hope they can live their daily lives in less pain.
Forbes Magazine covered a study that monitored patients who suffer from headaches. The research done showed that patients who used cannabis had a significant reduction in overall symptoms. Including, those who were able to dampen the effect of an onset migraine.
Our customers, including me, report great results with CBD oil before the onset of a migraine and using CBD topical on temples and behind the ears - even the sinuses - to reduce swelling and pressure. I am light sensitive so I found burying my head under pillows is also helpful. Maybe one day we will install blinds in our bedroom so I don't have to do that.
If you think you suffer from migraines please speak to your doctor before starting any new medication and supplements.
